The ACPR, in its advisory role to the Executive Secretary, maintains a continuation of the dialogue between the ESCAP Secretariat and member governments. ACPR establishes, with the assistance of the Secretariat, a work plan for the duration of one commission session to the next together with a list of tentative items to be discussed.

Asia-Pacific Expert Group on Disaster-related Statistics

Through ESCAP resolution 70/2 (E/ESCAP/RES/70/2) on Disaster-related statistics in Asia and the Pacific, the Commission established an expert group comprising statisticians and disaster risk reduction experts to work towards developing a basic range of disaster-related statistics in support of policy development.

Economic Statistics

The Steering Group for the Regional Programme on Economic Statistics was reconstituted in 2013 upon the request of the Committee on Statistics at its third session (http://www.unescap.org/events/committee-statistics-third-session), which took place in 2012. Given the high level of interest from member countries and development partners, a Coordination Committee of eight members in order to facilitate the work of the Steering Grsd_working_paper_april2016_asymmetries_in_international_trade_statistics.pdfoup, was established by the Bureau of the Committee on Statistics.

Partners for statistics development in Asia-Pacific

Partners for Statistics Development in Asia-Pacific (the Partnership) is a regional network of international, regional and sub-regional organizations and bilateral donors concerned with the improvement of statistics in Asia and the Pacific. The main purpose of the partnership is to improve the combined impact of capacity building activities through enhanced coordination, synergy and complementarity among partners.
