Country overview of statistical capacity 2017

Background

The country overviews are based on information from the national statistical offices of 50 countries in Asia and the Pacific. The information was compiled to assess progress of the Regional Programme for the Improvement of Economic Statistics in Asia and the Pacific (RPES).

RPES is an initiative of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics, designed to improve soundness of economic analysis and related decision making through increased availability and effective use of timely, reliable and comparable economic statistics.

RPES is implemented in three phases (2010-2013; 2014-2017; 2018-2020), with progress assessed at the end of each phase.
