Country Factsheets of the Capacity Screening Exercise 2017

The Regional Programme for the Improvement of Economic Statistics in Asia and the Pacific (RPES) was initiated by the Committee on Statistics. The Programme is designed to improve soundness of economic analysis and related decision making through increased availability and effective use of timely, reliable and comparable economic statistics.

RPES is implemented in three phases (2010-2013; 2014-2017; 2018-2020), with progress assessed at the end of each phase. The Capacity Screening Tool, a questionnaire, was developed as the monitoring tool for the Programme and first applied at the end of the first implementation phase in 2013.

The second Capacity Screening Exercise was initiated in 2017 at the end of the second implementation phase. By March 2018, 50 countries participated in the screening exercise.

These factsheets are drafted on the basis of the country responses provided during the survey and as such, do not reflect the changes happened thereafter in the respective national statistical system.

Please confirm respective country factsheet by 8 February 2019 through email to Ms Farzana Sharmin at sharmin@un.org

If there are no comments from your side by the proposed date, the factsheet will be deemed to have been confirmed by the country and will be posted on the public website of ESCAP.
